| !6-year-old me saw 26-year-old Ann Reinking play Roxie and it confused me when she said she was older now than she ever intended to be. I always thought a major point of Chicago was that Roxie and Velma had always been able to use sex to get what they need, but now they're reaching an age where that's not always going to work for them, so young actors in the roles (and in the movie) weakens the show for me. |
