Emblematic of the wrong-headedness and thoughtlessness of this production is when the Round Table finally shows up, it’s rectangular.
That isn't the Round Table. It's just a table. And a fairly small one. The location in the program is listed as "Castle corridor." I'm guessing they specifically chose a rectangular table to make it clear it wasn't the Round Table (which is as much metaphor as not).
I thought it was a beautifully directed production. You may disagree, but to call the direction "thoughtless" is just wrong. |
