The smaller house was considered Off-Broadway. I think the larger house may have sometimes closed off some seats to be considered Off-Broadway, but I'm not sure about that.
The smaller house had at one time been known as the Bijou, which over the years has caused some confusion with the Broadway theatre called the Bijou. |
