| I’d vote for Leopoldstadt too. I just saw Fat Ham yesterday. I thought the first two-thirds were clever, but then the conceit fell apart. The show’s finale was a mess and reeked of desperation. The playwright had no idea how to end this. Compare that to the beautiful ending of Leopoldstadt. Though it’s not my favorite Stoppard, at least the play’s conclusion grew organically out of what came before. |
