RE: From The New York Times: "In 1995, Roundabout staged a production of Mr. Pinter’s “Moonlight” at a newly opened 399-seat venue on West 46th Street, the Laura Pels Theater."
Right name, wrong space. The Roundabout's first Laura Pels Theater was in the Criterion Center, on Broadway, which is where "Moonlight" was staged. Five years later, the Roundabout assumed the lease on The American Place Theatre, on Sixth Avenue and West 46th Street, renaming it the Steinberg Center for American Theater and naming the mainstage for Ms. Pels. |
