I'm feeling too lazy to check in which book it appears, but either in a Robbins book or perhaps in Sam Wasson's Fosse bio it says that Abbott felt "Steam Heat" had no reason to be there and should be cut, but Robbins said the fact that it stopped the show was reason enough to keep it. (Which is at odds with how Robbins sometimes felt about his own work, which is that even if a number stopped the show, if it wasn't helping the show as a whole, it should go.)

I know it seems like such an Abbott thing since a year later there was "Who's Got the Pain?" and then a few years after that there was "Gentleman Jimmy," but that is what one of those books says. Could be wrong.
