When I listen to the 3 new songs Loesser wrote for the 1955 movie of ''Guys and Dolls,'' it's no dice for me.

I'm with you, Chromolume. ''I've Never Been in Love Before'' is SO much superior to ''A Woman in Love.''

And ''Pet Me, Poppa'' was written because Samuel Goldwyn didn't like ''A Bushel and a Peck'' and wanted a new song. (Boo!)

As for Sinatra, I can see why they'd want a new song for him, but to my ears, ''Adelaide'' is one of Loesser's lesser efforts.

(Sometimes, studios with publishing houses could make more money if they replaced the older songs with the newer tunes.)

Finally, I know the movie would've never given Abernathy the screen time, but I always miss the lovely and lilting ''More I Cannot Wish You.''
