James Wilson writes, "William David Brohn orchestrated, and the songs sound every bit as sumptuous as they did on the original Broadway cast LP."

I find this a bit odd as the Brohn orchestrations were created for the 1994 London revival. If anything, the Brohn orchestrations are more sumptuous than the originals, which were created for a smallish group of 13 or so, although they were played by a larger group on Broadway and adjusted so that more instruments would gradually join in during songs. Still, the Broadway orchestrations sound essentially the same as what can be heard on the original London cast recording. I appreciate the Brohn orchestrations, but feel that the originals by Eric Rogers suit the show better. It's like the originals are in black and white while the Brohn orchestrations are in color. The black and white seem to me more suitable to the show. I know Chromolume prefers the Brohn because the originals just repeat the same instrumentation in every verse of each song, while Brohn added more variety.

Anyway, I did find the comment a bit odd since Encores! is using different orchestrations.
