I read somewhere that Loesser come upon the phrase a bushel and a peck in a Truman Capote novel and used it thinking it was a common phrase like a stitch in time' etc
And since Loesser didn't want to be sued, he dropped the song ;I remember eating breakfast while a Bushel a and a peck played on the radio; Or is my memory playing tricks on me?
