I haven’t seen this production but I enjoyed the recording of the National Theatre’s original. It’s one of the best offerings on NT At Home, a service which may be my favorite byproduct of the pandemic. The original was a bit of a History Boys reunion with the late Richard Griffiths, Alex Jennings, Frances de la Tour. The specifics escape me at the moment but I enjoyed luxuriating in the actors’ dynamics (I want to say their presence but it was a recording).
I hadn’t realized a new production was now in NY. Glad you enjoyed it. |
