I wonder if Esparza tested positive for COVID or there is some other issue where Encores knows it's likely that he's not coming back for a while if at all. Otherwise, I agree that it seems odd not to let members exchange. I imagine the number of members is much lower than pre-pandemic, and inflexibility is a good way to convince people not to sign up ahead of time in the future.
Gavin Lee is a two-time Tony nominee. Luxury casting for a standby for a 2-week run. I'm seeing Oliver next week, and I hope Esparza is back, but if it ends up being Lee, I'm okay with that. |
