| Virtue signaling seems to get tossed out by people who don’t want to hear the message. As for awkward: yes, it should feel awkward. The founders of this country committed genocide followed by a series of broken treaties, and our government still disenfranchises Native people. There’s no way to make that truth not awkward, in the same way that there’s no defense to be made but this genocide that isn’t awkward. |
