Thanks, BroadwayTonyJ, for pointing out the song list at IBDB.com. I hadn't seen it earlier. But even that raises questions.
Like who wrote ''Music, Money, Love''? The IBDB list credits John Kander with both the music and the lyrics.
But if you watch the official video of the song, it credits: ''Music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb.''
And at least one New York Theater review said ''Music, Money, Love'' was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Kander.
In an early report, Miranda downplayed his contributions to the score and implied he wrote only a few tunes, so 6 seems a surprise.
At any rate, the Outer Critics Circle has nominated Kander & Miranda for Best Score, but the Tonys said their work didn't qualify. |
