Between Two Knees (not Trees) was commissioned by OSF and premiered as a coproduction among OSF, McCarter, Yale Rep, and Seattle Rep--and while it started at OSF back in 2019, the pandemic delayed the others such that it didn't get to Yale Rep until about a year ago or to McCarter and Seattle until earlier this year. Combine this with the production of Reservation Dogs (which Sterlin Harjo cocreated and which all of the other members of the 1491s (not 2s) either appeared on or wrote for) and I'm not surprised it hasn't made it to NYC yet.
