It was written by Howard Lindsay and Edward Hope, had been made into a film with Bing Crosby, Miriam Hopkins and Kitty Carlisle, here was adapted for tv starring Judy Holliday, probably around the end of 3 1/2 years on Broadway starring in "Born Yesterday". This was shortly before appearing in "Adam's Rib" and in the film version of "Born Yesterday". It's another adorable dumb blonde role, and Judy is wonderful as usual. She made a relatively modest amount of films in her short life, so any opportunity to see her is a treat. It's a very good production for early tv in 1949. Co-starring the recently-departed Marsha Hunt (who had a very nice singing voice), Salem Ludwig (who taught for years at HB Studios), Richard Hart and Paul Stewart. |
