It seems to me that Nicole Fosse's basic argument is wrong - at least in looking at the Tony eligibility rulings for this season.

I see nothing that disqualified the Dancin' revival from being a musical. In fact, there is this - "Robert Brill and Finn Ross will be considered jointly eligible in the Best Scenic Design of a Musical category for their work on Bob Fosse’s Dancin’."

So, unless I missed a later ruling, Dancin' was indeed being considered a musical.

And then, the Tony voters ultimately decided that it didn't stand up to the competition in that genre this year. Egregiously overlooked, perhaps? Or just not strong enough to be voted in?

In any case, it would seem that Ms. Fosse is either ignoring the facts, or doesn't understand them.
