While the quality of these offerings may indeed turn out to be great, it's so weird that nonprofits still refuse to engage with more of the "capitalist" commercial producing tactics, such as including higher-profile casting decisions in this initial blast.
Yes, these writers and directors are compelling. But compelling doesn't sell tickets. And "hot downtown creators" often make less-than-compelling art. |
