As it was said, Broadway shows have nothing to do with this. No one is picketing Broadway shows. But the Tonys has WGA writers and even if they were able to figure out how to have the show WITHOUT the writers' involvement, I think there would be pressure for all of the actors to not cross the picket line. I think there are three ways this could end up:

1) No Tony Awards broadcast. Just a press conference announcing the awards like they did with the Golden Globes in 2007.
2) The WGA gives the Tony Awards a waiver to go on without them. I believe they did this for the SAG Awards during the last strike.
3) The Tony Awards get postponed until after the strike.

I really really hope they don't do #1. It's such an honor to be nominated and to get that time on television when they announce your name like you dreamed of as a kid. If #2 can't happen, I vote for #3. Hold the Tonys in August. It sucks for a show like Some Like It Hot that wants the publicity now but I don't think a press conference announcing they've won Best Musical will have the impact they want anyway.

Does anyone have anything to add or refute?
