That mat be true but I think the biggest issue is the lack of hummable songs in these scores. Word of mouth is still king. If you leave a show and tell friends they have to go, they go. If you hear a song on tv or online and you cant get it out of your head, you go.
same reasin why Oliver is a classic, among others.
we need better scores. And that means supporting composers and bookwriters in their development of craft. |
