| Very positive. I don’t see everything Encores does … I average two of the three shows a season and avoid shows I don’t think I am inclined to like. But I have found it a wonderful way to experience shows I was too young to see in their original productions and to rediscover shows I saw as an adolescent. And casts are usually superb. Any opportunity to see the likes of Donna Murphy and Raul Esparza and Sutton Foster, Douglas Sills, Brian Stokes Mitchell, etc. is eminently worthwhile. Encores was the first time I saw the wondrous Rebecca Luker perform and the last time I saw Marin Mazzie. I’ve never seen anything I’ve out and out hated, and I usually leave pretty darned delighted. (And I love sitting way up in the gallery … great sight lines and sound!) |
