I usually take the use of first names on this site to be a sign of aspirational—or, in some cases, actual—community. It seems to indicate a world/inner circle folks like to think of as their own, whether or not it is.
Regardless of whether I find the use of such first names presumptuous or proper, I do think the presumption of familiarity and affection is unique to theatre and pretty special. |
