I'm glad others have spoken out against the obvious silliness of this post, but a couple key points for this thread:
1) We rarely know the genders of posters on here.
2) You don't know that I don't know Lear DeBessonet.

3) Re: the abbreviated rehearsal time, I have worked in directing capacities at City Center Encores! so I obviously understand the limitations of the program. As with the previous points, people do speak on here from areas of experience and knowledge. More seasoned and more passionate directors enter Encores! with staging plans and configurations and rough patterns and blocking and arcs -- preproduction work that allows for more work in the room on actual storytelling: acting choices, scene work, clarity of intention and beats, etc.
We aren't all just completely passive observers in New York theatre, which possibly explains our frustrations and passions and excitements and and and ... :) |
