As you know however, highest grossing does not correlate to either worth/value or word of mouth, because it ignores variations in potential gross even with your frequently-noted supply/demand benefits.
WOM would be a great metric but it is not measurable. WOM from the Hayes cannot accomplish what it can from the Gershwin.
The OP proposed awards based on "worth," which is subjective and not measurable other than through some people's choice type canvassing that has better statistical controls. |
