James also had a new played premiered last year by Azuka Theatre, Reverie, that opened around the time Fat Ham won the Pulitzer. And he has another new play, Good Bones, beginning performances at Studio Theatre in DC. He's always been prolific -- not to mention that he churns out plays while also directing, acting (though less frequently in recent years), serving until recently as co-artistic director of the Wilma Theater, and teaching at Villanova. But I thought that both Reverie and Abandon felt like sketches. I hope he doesn't succumb to the temptation of striking too much while the iron is hot.

Agree about Melanye's performance, though -- a career best. I would not be surprised if she won a Barrymore.
