"Does anyone expect Porgy and Bess produced in China to old have Black actors?"

As many people know, Gershwin's estate requires it to be performed by Black actors and I know a great many American Black opera singers who regularly travel to Germany to perform Porgy there. Unless it was unlicensed, or somehow exempted, I would think a production in China would have to do the same.

Linking an Anthony Tommasini piece on whether Porgy and Bess should be restricted to black artists, with interesting quotes from Simon Estes, who felt it should not be so limited.
