I can't think why "hard media" would be befuddling to anyone. When I but a CD or DVD/Blu-ray, I own it. It is available for me to enjoy as long as I have a method to play it--which devices are still available, and not too expensively. If I don't have a hard copy and get my music or movies from Apple or a streaming service, THEY own it, and can remove it whenever they choose.
I have lots of friends who gave up comprehensive collections of CDs because "it's all on Spotify!" Until it isn't. It was a choice they regret now. |
