| Last season, this happened to me at A Strange Loop and Girl From the North Country. In both instances, the productions rewound a bit to pull us back in - and succeeded. At Loop, the meta aspect of the staging made us think it was part of the conceit and everyone cheered and waited for immediate continuation. It was 20 minutes in. With Girl it was near the end and the silence in the house felt deeply respectful, recognizing the 11th hour and high stakes. |
