| I feel like I am seeing on Instagram a fair amount of covers going on at Shucked. I can imagine Alex Newells voice must get shot after blasting out that song every performance. Do you know if they tend to miss certain performances? I'm bringing my whole family next Wednesday afternoon, and would love for them to see Alex. | |

| MimiMe, I'm kind of a novice at Instagram. Can I ask you (and anybody else who can help) where you find information about covers? I've been looking at Shucked's official Instagram page and other places, but I'm not seeing any mention of covers. There are some at Broadwaycovers Twitter page, but they only talk about one principal out at Shucked for the month before today. | |

| Alex has one solo number and while full throated, vocalists can sing a show like Dreamgirls (with MULTIPLE showstoppers) with a regular schedule without having vocal issues. Alex shouldn't have a huge issue in Shucked. |

| I don't know if there's some bug that's going around, but a fair number of people have been out during Tony season, when traditionally no one is allowed to take vacation. I have to admit it makes me nervous about buying tickets in the hope of seeing specific performers. I noticed the Drama Desks are on Tuesday, June 6 from 3 to 6pm, when I think most shows have Tuesday performances at 7. That does not seem like great timing to me, although Sardi's, where the event is being held, is not open on Sunday or Monday. I don't know if there's another venue that could have been tried. Last year, the Drama Desks were also on Tuesday afternoon, but they were not held until after Tony voting had closed. |

| There is nothing about what Alex is doing that was written to make them unable to perform 8 shows a week. Their song in act one is powerful, but not like singing Evita 8 shows a week. Also, Alex is Tony nominated. It is highly unlikely they will miss performances until June 11. Alex is a consummate professional, totally reliable, loved, and giving one of the best supporting performances of the season. | |

| I love Alex, but I missed them three times in Once on this Island. The score may not be written to kill their voice, but the power and intensity with which they sing has to be hard to sustain. | |

| I mean, it's ONE song. Patti sang equally as difficult and powerfully in Evita... Through an entire show. JHol and Lillias did the same in Dreamgirls. Heather Headley had a great track record in Aida. Unless Alex is not taking good care pre and post show or is simply singing wrong, Shucked shouldn't be problematic. |

| Variety reported last Tuesday that Alex Newell is scheduled to perform ''Independently Owned'' from ''Shucked'' on NBC's ''The Voice'' tonight (5/22). Is this still happening or has it been rescheduled? Getting this kind of national exposure would be quite a coup for both Newell and ''Shucked.'' |
