I'm not sure if ''A Chorus Line'' would make MY list of ''worst stage to movies ever made.'' But it's certainly full of missteps and so flat-footed.

Michael Bennett wanted to make the movie of ''A Chorus Line'' as a documentary-like film about making the movie. But MGM didn't want that.

TCM host Ben Mankiewicz, in his post-movie commentary, lauded ''Every Little Step'' as one of the best documentaries about theater.

Adam Del Deo and James D. Stern directed that 2008 film, and Jason Tam stole the movie with his mesmerizing audition as Paul.

Not surprisingly, Tam got cast as Paul in that 2006 Broadway revival (and I'm still flabbergasted that he didn't even get a Tony nomination).
