An interesting play. Very well done. Excellent cast. Deals with a strange psychological malady(a metaphor for our modern isolation or a true mental condition, both?). Thank goodness that it's very mild and interesting instead of shocking. Thinking about it a lot.

I thought the suggestion was that Harper's character, in addition to his personal tragedy, is neurodivergent, as people now say.
I certainly agree with the praise of Harper (who with all his TV success seems dedicated to the theater) and the play...April Matthis, Jay Sanders and Eric Berryman are wonderful too.

I posted below that I loved it but, I agree, been thinking about it a lot.

Spoilers below

Thinking in particular about his refrain "I'm not all that religious, I don't believe in heaven or hell, but I do believe in friends." At the moment, I feel like Bert is sort of like a God figure to him, something to talk to and help him cope, something painfully difficult to move on from. But I think the play and William Jackson Harper's performance allow for so many different interpretations.

I thought his name sounded familiar to me. William Jackson Harper was fantastic in the incredible limited series, The Underground Railroad. Wish I were back in NY in time to see this limited run!
