| Sorry to say I missed THE BEAUTIFUL LADY, but I loved PRIMARY TRUST. A beautiful production of a most fulfilling play. Enthusiasm for it on this board and, surprisingly, on Facebook made it my choice for today and a wise one it was. | |

| Typical Swados. What the hell was THAT about? And how about writing a melody? | |

| One of my first professional gigs in Boston many years ago was MD-ing a production of Swados' Esther. An eccentric piece to say the least (and she, a rather enigmatic soul, and from what I can tell, as shy as they come), but it also had moments of very wonderful melody and music. I came out of that experience feeling like she was ultimately a very lazy writer, who could really turn out great stuff when she felt like it. Some people really believe in her writing. And that's fine. I'll stick with the word eccentric. ;-) | |
