I'm all for supporting understudies - I have seen some good ones.
But sometimes they are simply not good enough for the part - which is why they didn't get the part.
When shows have multiple understudies I think the price should be reduced - you're not getting the production they way it was produced and cast.
As for taking holiday weekends off - that's not ever a thing is it?
