I had the good fortune this weekend to stay at a place with a real, century-old pianola. Pedal-powered, hundreds of piano rolls, the works. The piano rolls were mostly fox trots, with a couple theater songs like "Mack the Knife" thrown in.
I'd never seen one before and I'm wondering: are there any places in NYC where people can go and play pianolas? I just thought it was the neatest thing, but the one I played this weekend is now hundreds of miles away. I know you can rent studios with pianos around the city, but any suggestions for pianolas or the like? |
