| Maharis also sang with Judy Garland on her tv show during the 1960s, a rather wonderful credit for someone thought of more as a very handsome dramatic tv star. He had some difficulties with Hollywood by himself being not closeted in his personal life. He was also a pioneer in being one of the first male celebrities to pose nude for "Playgirl" -- Jim Brown who also just died recently may have been the first in that era. Interesting that some people might have confused Maharis sometimes with George Chakiris who also played Bobby on tour in "Company". Rest in peace. |
