I saw it shortly after it opened.
But the loudest show I ever saw was Once on this Island. Unnecessarily so because the performers all had big voices.
I remember how the sound got louder and louder for Hairspray as the run aged. I saw when it opened, kept taking out of towners to it over the run and each time it got louder and louder. I guess to compensate for the deterioration of the production -- performances and pacing. |
