| With the death of Cynthia Weil, I was reminded of seeing a wonderful, what we now call a "jukebox musical", at the Bottom Line in 1984 or 1985. The amazing company of singer/actors were awe-inspiring, each was more talented than the next. There was a slight book, but the show was all about the songs. And what songs they were: On Broadway, Uptown, Walkin' In The Rain, Make Your Own Kind Of Music, I'm Gonna Be Strong, Blame It On The Bossa Nova, to name a few. I can't find any info online, which I assume didn't have a life after its initial run. Did anyone see it? What were your recollections? I used to save every program but I recently did a purge. God, I hope that wasn't one of them. It truly was in my top 10 NYC theatrical experiences. I recall the acoustics at the venue were perfect. |
