| wmorrow, I hope you don't mind if I piggyback onto this thread. I looked at the website and was trying to figure out whether I can use the TOFT to watch the videos. I'm not a New York State resident/worker/etc, but it sounds like I can get a Visitors card by going to the TOFT in person with my driver's license, and that Visitors card is good for 3 months, but I could go in person and keep renewing it every 3 months. Do I have that right? I've always wanted to use this resource but wasn't sure I was eligible to do so. | |

| Non-residents of New York can certainly use the TOFT archive. I think the best thing for you to do would be to call tomorrow, at either (212) 870-1641 or (212) 870-1642, and ask about the current policy for NYPL user cards. I used to work in the screening room years ago, but since I no longer do, and am aware that some of the rules have changed, I don't want to give you info that's out of date. | |
