It's sad that Hiran Abeysekera didn't get a Tony nomination, especially since he won the Olivier Award, but that category was so competitive.

Abeysekera, a Sri Lankan actor, would've made history as the first Asian guy ever Tony-nominated for Leading Actor in a Play in 76 years.

But in 1959, Cedric Hardwicke, a white British actor, was Tony-nominated for playing Koichi Asano, a Japanese man, in ''A Majority of One.''

Come to think of it: No Asian woman has ever been Tony-nominated for Leading Actress in a Play either. Which is equally disappointing.
