LION KING ticket advice - please help?
Posted by: Funhomefan 04:15 pm EDT 06/05/23

A teacher friend of mine (single mom) and her 8 year old daughter are going to NYC for the first time, and really wants her kid to see THE LION KING. They could go Tuesday, Wednesday Mat or evening) or Thursday. They are going through ticket master and I am finding it hard to believe that the show has such "non great" seats on a Tuesday night especially. Seats are either in the orchestra (starting with row V extreme side) or 2nd to the last row in the theater. Full price plus the lovely ticket master fees.

I am telling about the digital lottery, but that is pretty iffy. I know that there is not a general rush, but what might happen if she went to the box office at 10 am and asked what they had for that performance? Might there be a better chance for a better seat at full (but not the "premium" price at that time? Not sure about box office holding back seats (even house seats) till the day of the show.

Can I get some advice? I honestly think that if the 8 year old was way off to the side or way in the far back, she would not really follow the show. Also, any other advice for a show that an 8 year old would enjoy? I think she might be too young for Wicked... and LIFE OF PI (which I LOVE) is too much. Thanks in advance.
