And it is truly wonderful. I had always knew her work, sort of, and loved her song about Dusty Springfield that is included in one of Dusty's big box sets. One Sunday we stopped at Danny's Skylight Room (how I miss that place) for dinner before a show and this old woman was hunched over playing the piano. I didn't pay much attention and could barely hear her until I realized it was Blossom Dearie. You had to sit close and listen, she was near the end of her playing days, but OMG the magic was still there. She played there frequently (only at 6 PM Sundays) and I went back to see her every time I was in town until she no longer appeared anymore.
