One of my favorite movies, so much so that I bought the British video to sustain me until the American release.
Definitely an acquired taste film. When I saw it at the movies, I was one of only a few who were laughing throughout. My only complaint was the tacked-on George Burns prologue to explain to idiots what they were about to see.
George C.Scott as Spats Baxter, a Broadway producer told he only has a month to live: “Only four weeks to live?! Thirty days!”
Doctor: “This is February, Spats.”
Spats: “One minute you're standing in the wings, and the next minute you're wearin' 'em."
Easily it’s my favorite George C. Scott musical! |
