I was lucky enough to see her once in concert - it must have been 2006 or 2007 - in an NYU auditorium, if I recall. A delight to experience, but I'm sure it would have been better in a more intimate setting.

The morning after I actually bumped into her - literally - at a convenience store on Sheridan Square. I was so shocked to see her, I never said hello nor did I tell her how much I enjoyed her concert and music generally. Big regret there.

What strikes me, reading this and other articles: did anyone actually *know* her? Surely there must be people here with whom she was friends/friendly? Someone commenting on YouTube said they she used to come into their bar before every performance at Danny's and order an orange juice and peanuts: not what you'd expect from someone about to perform...!
