Why would they cut Atlantic City? It's a song. This is a concert. A concert with almost none of the dialogue to perform/learn/stage/take up time. What excuse is there not to do every single song in the licensed score?
I agree a reduced Ragtime is better than no Ragtime... but even a reduced one needs *enough* of the dialogue to get everything happening in the songs... and needs to be staged to make clear what's going on, especially if a key bit of info is written to be communicated in the staging and props... this is not new or hard for a concert to pull off. |
