Naziland, coincidentally, is the name of the nightclub at the top of Zéro-Janvier's Tour Dorée (golden skyscraper) in the French rock opera 'Starmania'.
This production of Cabaret, actually, is rather more restrained in its use of Nazi imagery than some others have been - but yes, there's something slightly unpleasant about the way it turns the show into an expensive Themed Night Out with a cash bar. Though, as I said somewhere else, a lot of people liked it a lot more than I did. |
