Ha. Hard to say!
Both were successful, both had film rights sales and well performing cast albums in the 50s and 60s. I don't know when he bought it. But i think he's made MUCH more money on WSS than on Gypsy, even just in the 50s and 60s.
But I don't know if i read it or if someone I know who knew Sondheim said it directly, with WSS as the show. Maybe neither! |
