How is it a disservice to the New York theater community to tell the truth about a show that's in trouble? (Or to tell the truth about anything else, for that matter?) How would pretending that it is not in trouble help? Telling the truth might actually persuade a few people who kind-of want to see it to get on the ball and buy some tickets before it closes.
