juliabway, did you go five days ago or twelve days ago? It sounds like five days ago, but I wasn't sure. I went a week ago (last Thursday) and everyone was in except for Fergie Philippe, who normally plays Sir Sagamore. Sola Fadiran took his place, and I'm wondering if he's still playing the part if Philippe is playing Arthur. Burnap was having gait problems on Thursday also, I think during most of the show. He wasn't outright limping, but he seemed to be favoring one leg over the other. I didn't notice if he was having gait issues at curtain call, but there would be no textual reason why Arthur should have such a problem so I think it was the actor and not the character. I hope he is okay.

I saw the show before about halfway through previews, and I liked it a lot more this time than last time. A lot of that has to do with expectations: I knew that this was not going to be a "big" production and adjusted my thoughts accordingly. I also think there was much more chemistry between Soo and Burnap this time. The audience was also much warmer, with a lot of laughter and applause. (Amusingly, Soo got a lot of entrance applause, Donica got a little, and Burnap got zero.) I didn't have any problems hearing Soo, but I agree that her singing is very "quiet." I wonder if that is purposeful to match Burnap's style, which makes Donica's singing seem the outlier among the three. It also kind of matches the general intimacy of this production.

I agree with those who say that Burnap is really good and the best performer in this production. The child actor playing Tom of Warwick is mildly better but I still don't understand how he got cast out of the huge talent pool in New York.

I still have several issues with creative team choices. I think LCT would have been wiser financially to try to make a crowd-pleaser with bigger numbers and, well, bigger in general. Morgan Le Fey could be excised entirely. That Guinevere wants the knights to physically maim Lancelot during what is essentially a scrimmage game seems to go completely counter to what common sense should be dictating to all parties involved. And the whole "business partner" stuff should have been tossed as well. But I think this time, I was able to enjoy the show that was actually presented rather than wish for the production that I thought this should be. Similar to my feelings about New York, New York, I enjoyed it and am glad I went while still noting that there are a lot of imperfections that the creative team should have been aware of and tried to address, and that neither show is completely satisfying in its current state. They're both a "B" or "B-," and I think they both on paper could have been an "A."
