I forgot to mention that I also don't understand why Sorkin and Sher decided to take the punchline out of "What Do the Simple Folk Do?" (The lines: "They sit around and wonder what royal folk would do, And that's what simple folk do.") That's the whole point of the song. Sorkin and Sher could have ended the scene in exactly the same way, but just a few lines later. And the punchline could be the source of a shared laugh that would bring Arthur and Guinevere closer together.
I find that choice to be really bizarre and of no real benefit. |
