| Peters swore off roles in new musicals after the horrible experience she had in The Goodbye Girl, and she hasn't been in an original (non revival) musical on Broadway since. That said, I agree she is not above replacing a performer. This IS the Tony winning best musical of last season. And since the show is already developed and generally considered to be a solid piece (as opposed to a new musical in development) she might feel more comfortable with it. She'd know exactly what she's getting into. But it all seems like a pipe dream. Isn't she opening in the new Sondheim revue in London soon? |
