I don't know what's included on the CD, but Arthur tells Guinevere the story of pulling the sword from the stone at length in the current production.
I don't know how the original Act I ended, but I found it interesting that Act I ends on a fairly long spoken monologue by Arthur. I think it's pretty unusual for a musical to end Act I with a scene that has no singing in it, and in this case, this seems like a monologue that could have been musicalized. Did the original script have this same Act I ending? |
